The latest disinfection technologies are being trialled at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to protect passengers and staff.
The technology deployed at the airport includes disinfection channels, antimicrobial coating and autonomous cleaning robots to protect people from COVID-19.
HKIA is the first airport to trial the CleanTech full-body disinfection channel to kill viruses and bacteria on human bodies and clothing. The airport operator, Airport Authority Hong Kong, is testing applying an antimicrobial coating to all high-touch surfaces. Autonomous cleaning robots are patrolling public areas using ultraviolet light and air sterilizers.
