Miami International Airport is hosting a series of non-verbal vignettes by renowned performer Nina Martin for passengers traveling through its terminals in August. The pantomime performances have been commissioned by the airport’s Fine Arts and Cultural Affairs Division and will be taking place in surprise locations throughout the terminals. The next performance will be taking place on August 7, 2015.
Yolanda Sanchez, Fine Arts and Cultural Affairs director, Miami International Airport, said, “Our Fine Arts Program has brought everything from opera, ballet, an orchestra and classic films to the airport, and now we are introducing the magic of theater. Our passengers will be able to enjoy stories that are told without words. Nina uses dynamic movements and expressions to entertain and connect with the audience.”
Martin holds a doctorate from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and regularly performs in Europe and the USA. The performances are part of the airport’s efforts to humanize and enrich the airport environment through contemporary artwork, exhibitions and enactments in various media.
