Restaurant operator HMSHost has unveiled Mexican street-food chain Border Grill as the latest concept to occupy the LA Gourmet Street Truck in Terminal 4 (T4) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in California, USA.
Border Grill, a concept by TV chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, provides travelers with food-on-the-go in the form of gourmet tacos, quesadillas and ceviche.
Border Grill becomes only the second brand to occupy the LA Gourmet Street Truck, which was designed to rotate the most popular LA street vendor offerings. Renowned Korean-American chef Roy Choi kicked off the Street Truck concept with his Kogi BBQ offering in the airport’s Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Deborah Flint, executive director for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the airport operator, said, “The focus of many of our new concessions has been to put the LA back into LAX by showcasing the very best of the city’s diverse cuisine, culture and lifestyle in the retail and food and beverage offerings for our guests. Travelers can experience the bold flavors of Mexican street food combined with the popularity of the gourmet-truck scene at the airport.”
Bryan Loden, vice president of business development for HMSHost, said, “We are very excited to welcome Border Grill and chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, along with LAWA, who have been great partners, at the first Border Grill location in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. We look forward to bringing Border Grill’s famous gourmet Mexican cuisine to travelers in another terminal.”
