Insurance tech platform Bold Penguin has unveiled an installation at Hartford Airport that it hopes will bring the city of Hartford, Connecticut, back to its roots as the USA’s first hub of insurance providers.
Revealed on Friday, March 13, the display sees the Hartford Airport Arrivals Tunnel transformed into an intergalactic portal. This part of the airport was chosen by Bold Penguin as it was previously dominated by ads for legacy insurance companies.
Once nicknamed the ‘Insurance Capital of the World’, Hartford has been home to almost three dozen insurance behemoths since the 18th century, but has faced economic disruption as companies have shrunk, consolidated, or moved to bigger cities. This campaign centers around reactivating Hartford’s lifeblood industry, insurance, by creating an experience that literally and figuratively invites people into the city, according to Bold Penguin.
“The insurance industry in Hartford dates back to 1794 and the city continues to be one of the most important capitals of the industry,” says Amber Wuollet, director of marketing at Bold Penguin. “Our mission is to empower commercial insurance as the industry’s unifier. As you walk into the tunnel, we want you to feel like you are part of our universe. More importantly, we want each small business that comes through our exchange to get exactly the coverage that they need so they can get back to their goals – growing their business.”
