The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced that TSA Pre✓ security screening will begin operating at Cyril E King Airport in the US Virgin Islands.
Passengers who have registered for TSA Pre✓ screening will be able to make use of the designated security lanes to expedite the entry process into the US. They will also be able to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, as well as keeping their laptop in its case and 3-1-1 compliant liquids and gels in a carry-on bag.
Jose Baquero, federal security director for the TSA in the Caribbean, said, “The expansion of TSA Pre✓ to the US Virgin Islands highlights the TSA’s ongoing commitment to adopting intelligence-driven, risk-based security initiatives that provide the most effective security in the most efficient way. The initiative also allows us to be active partners with the airlines and other stakeholders in expanding our abilities to provide expedited screening and a better travel experience for travelers leaving our shores.”
