Siemens Postal, Parcel and Airport Logistics (SPPAL) has received an order to provide enhancements to the Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas, USA.
The project includes replacing the three existing computed tomography (CT) scanners as well as adding a fourth CT scanner. The enhancements will enable Siemens to increase the efficiency, baggage throughput and tracking accuracy of the entire system. The project is scheduled for completion by late 2016.
Michael Reichle, CEO of SPPAL, said, “The order at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston shows that our competency in airport logistics is highly sought-after in the USA, the largest airport market in the world.”
