Airport operator Fraport has introduced new ‘silent chairs’ to help passengers unwind ahead of catching their flight at Frankfurt Airport in Germany.
The arch-shaped silent chairs have been designed in a way that reduces the ambient noise of the terminal, enabling passengers to listen to their own music thanks to integrated speakers that can be connected to their smartphones, tablets or other digital devices. Those wishing to work will also find integrated power sockets, a USB port and a small table.
The silent chairs are located in Terminal 1 opposite gates A58 and Z58, and in Terminal 2 at gates D4 and E5. Fraport is planning to add further silent chairs throughout both terminals.
The silent chairs are part of Fraport’s “Great to have you here!” service program, launched with the aim of enhancing the passenger travel experience at Frankfurt Airport. Other examples from the program include the Frankfurt Airport app 3.0 and free 24-hour wi-fi for all terminal passengers.
