Nils Schirmer has been appointed director of purchasing at Eurotrade, the retail arm of Munich Airport, Germany.
Schirmer will lead the strategic development of the purchasing portfolio including data management, procurement and the layout of existing shops and boutique concepts. Eurotrade operates 64 retail units at Munich Airport with a total of 1,130 employees and 14,000m² (150,000ft²) of retail space.
Schirmer joins Eurotrade from duty-free retailer Gebr Heinemann where he has worked since 2011, most recently as director of purchasing operations. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at office supplies retailer Staples in Hamburg. Schirmer will report directly to Christian Wallner, one of the two managing directors at Eurotrade.
