The holiday season has begun at Germany’s Munich Airport, with the opening of its popular Christmas and Winter market.
Situated at the Forum in the Munich Airport Center for the 19th consecutive year, the large covered space has been transformed into a winter wonderland. The market features more than 40 stands, 450 real Christmas trees, seasonal treats and handmade crafts. A 600m2 (6,458ft2) ice rink takes center stage, where revelers can enjoy skating or a turn at curling. Skating is free of charge, with a small fee require for skate rental.
From Tuesday to Sunday, live musical acts of different genres will perform from 6pm, with a DJ taking to the decks to entertain skaters on Thursdays. From 4pm on Wednesdays, family-oriented fairytale performances and magic shows will also be on.
The Christmas and Winter market is open daily from 11am-9pm until December 30.
