Several new luxury shopping outlets were unveiled yesterday (January 14) at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 (T5). The latest retail brands include Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Rolex and Bottega Veneta.
British model Laura Bailey spent the day at T5 acting as Heathrow’s official ‘Style Hunter’ as part of an event to unveil the new additions.
“Starting my travels at Heathrow is always a pleasurable experience,” said Bailey. “The airport has an excellent selection of luxury brands and houses some of my favorite designers. Heathrow’s T5 is one of my favorite retail destinations in the world. With the likes of Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Bottega Veneta, Burberry and Dior, pre-flight retail therapy has never been more exciting.
“Heathrow’s T5 is a great venue to hunt down some of the world’s most stylish travelers. With so many fashion forward people traveling daily, it’s no surprise that the airport attracts the world’s biggest and best luxury brands.”
The new brands are part of an earlier investment of £40m (US$61m) in redeveloping T5, which has seen the addition of a personal shopping service and other high-quality retail brands such as Fortnum & Mason. In total, T5 now has a collection of 22 fashion and luxury brands.
John Holland-Kaye, CEO of Heathrow, said, “Our ambition is to take Heathrow from being one of the best airports in Europe to one of the best in the world – we have always been famous for the quality of our retail experience. Today, we have taken it to a new level.”
