Travel retail specialist Dufry has committed to opening two duty-free and one duty-paid shop at the new terminal at Florianópolis International Airport in southern Brazil.
The new terminal is scheduled to open in October 1, 2019, and Dufry’s duty-free stores will cover 280m² (3,010ft²) in departures, and 170m² (1,830ft²) in arrivals. The stores are designed as walkthrough shops, driving the passenger flow straight through the shops, which feature luxury items across several categories. Brands represented include Johnnie Walker, Lindt and Carolina Herrera.
The new 200m² (2,150ft²) duty-paid store will be in the domestic departure lounge, and will feature two of Dufry’s most successful retail concepts – Dufry Shopping and Hudson. The product mix will include perfumes and cosmetics, confectionery, toys, wine and spirits, fashion and accessories, as well as a vast selection of luxury products from several categories and brands such as Chanel, Dior and Samsonite. The retail space dedicated to Hudson, Dufry’s convenience concept, will offer products such as beverages, confectionery, books, magazines and newspapers, stationery, electronics, toys and toiletries.
The new terminal is four times bigger than the existing building and will take the annual passenger capacity to eight million, twice what it is at present.
