Budapest Airport in Hungary has announced that it will be launching a series of retail tenders in May 2015 following strong sales results of €15m (US$16.1m) in Q1 and the maturity of existing retail contracts. The retail and food and beverage concessions will be based in the airport’s SkyCourt shopping center.
To help promote the tenders on offer, Kam Jandu, chief commercial officer, Budapest Airport, will lead a delegation heading to the ACI (Airports Council International) Airport Commercial and Retail Conference in Milan, taking place April 21-23, 2015.
Jandu said, “The Milan event is a big airport retail crossroads and gives us the platform to meet with key potential business partners while casting tender invitations to the many global brands and retail big names represented among the 400 delegates. Our fantastic first quarter results will play an important role in attracting new interest to Budapest.”
The airport has recently opened a number of new outlets in the SkyCourt shopping center including a salon by the Beverly Hills stylist José Eber, a beauty counter by Dead Sea and organic cosmetics specialist GRATiAE, as well as Victoria’s Secret’s first store in Hungary.
