Rob Cole has resigned from his position as board chair and as a non-executive independent director of the board at Perth Airport. Clive Appleton will continue in the role as acting chair while the board considers options for a permanent chair.
Executive impact
Cole joined the board as an independent non-executive director in January 2023 and subsequently served as chair since March 2023. During his tenure as chair, Perth Airport completed its post-pandemic rebound to achieve unprecedented passenger numbers, successfully sealed a landmark commercial agreement with the Qantas Group, and commenced work on its next wave of major infrastructure projects which will change the face of the airport.
Cole’s contribution to the board
Cole stepped back from his duties as chair in early November 2024 due to health reasons and has now decided he will not return to this role as he focuses on his recovery.
According to the organization, Cole’s experience and professionalism, along with his calm and considered personal approach have been highly valued by everyone at Perth Airport and they wish him a speedy recovery.
