The construction program is offered as a three-year contract, with all others spanning two years.
London Gatwick welcomed 13 graduates in September 2024 from a range of undergraduate and master’s degrees, such as crisis and disaster management, aerospace engineering, geography and computer science from universities including Sussex, Kent, Portsmouth and Imperial College London.
Professional development
Finlay Nichols, sustainability graduate and participant in London Gatwick 2024 graduate program, said, “From day one I’ve been involved in exciting projects, such as key technological developments in sustainable aviation fuel and hydrogen. The support from my leaders and peers has been incredible and I’ve gained a deep understanding of airport operations. I am excited to continue to build my knowledge and understanding in this evolving sector and support London Gatwick on its journey to net zero.”
Bronwen Jones, development director at London Gatwick, said, “We are delighted to welcome talented individuals to our graduate program each year. Their fresh perspectives and innovative thinking are vital as we continue to grow and shape the future of the airport.
“I began my career at London Gatwick as a graduate myself and have since worked in lots of different areas, including security, operations, baggage and construction. I now lead the airport’s multi-million-pound development program. The opportunities at London Gatwick are endless and your career can go in so many different directions.”
Alongside the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the single-runway airport, the program offers graduates comprehensive induction, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training, exposure to London Gatwick’s leadership team, and development training supported by a dedicated mentor.
