Airports Council International (ACI) World will today (September 12) kick-off its inaugural Customer Excellence Global Summit, which is dedicated to sharing and exploring industry best practice in delivering better airport experiences for passengers.
The summit, hosted by Halifax Stansfield International Airport, is organized around the theme ‘Delivering the best experience.’ It is a timely subject for airports as they contend with an increase in air travel demand and customer expectations.
Welcoming remarks will be delivered by Marc Garneau, Canada’s minister of transport; president and CEO of Halifax Stansfield International Airport Joyce Carter; and ACI World director general Angela Gittens. The delegates have been graciously welcomed via letter by Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada.
Garneau commented, “I understand that ACI World has chosen Halifax because of its consistent ranking as one of the top airports in terms of passenger satisfaction. Airports are important economic drivers and the Government of Canada recognizes the significant role played by Canada’s airports in supporting jobs and tourism, enabling investment and facilitating trade. I wish you all the best at your conference.”
Gittens added, “Airports large and small are making the commitment to provide an excellent customer experience and ACI remains committed to helping them achieve their goal.
“The idea behind this new global event is simple: to combine the traditional multiple ASQ Forums held throughout the year into one international annual summit, providing delegates with a much-needed platform to exchange best-practices and lessons learned on the best airport customer experience, challenges and trends. It will also offer us the opportunity to celebrate the best of the best with a gala Awards ceremony and dinner.”
