The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, the operator for San Diego International Airport, has released a request for qualifications (RFQ) for architects and construction firms interested in building a high-quality public-use parking plaza.
The airport authority is looking to extend the aesthetic elements of the Terminal 2 West expansion into the parking plaza. It is therefore interested in elements such as elegant architectural design, sustainable landscape architecture, new parking technologies, advanced communications and security systems, public art and benchmark sustainability.
The project scope is for a building with three parking levels and approximately 3,000 parking stalls with integrated parking technology and customer service measures. The design-build team must consist of a core team including the design-build entity/general contractor, architect of record, structural engineer of record, concrete contractor, parking consultant and technology specialist.
Respondents must be registered as a vendor on San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s website to receive addenda notices that may affect the submission.
Key dates include the pre-submittal conference on February 17, 2015, at 11:00am; the deadline to submit written questions on February 23, 2015; and the Statement of Qualifications due on March 9, 2015, at 2:00pm.
