CAME Parkare, a CAME Group company, has carried out a technological update of AENA-owned Barcelona Airport’s parking systems.
The company upgraded 53 entrances, 60 exits and 64 automatic ticket machines in eight parking areas in the two terminals of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona – El Prat Airport, affecting 17,000 parking spaces. CAME Parkare installed its PKE parking system, which is based on a network of automatic devices that regulate access, check payments and record all activities inside the car lot. The upgrading was completed two months ahead of schedule.
The solutions developed by CAME Parkare greatly simplify parking management at the airport, improving control, competitiveness and performance. In addition to the technological upgrading of the software (LINCE), the company also created a new infrastructure to enable centralized car lot management. Following the updates, the CAME Parkare software can be integrated with all AENA and third-party equipment and services at the airport, including: alarms; databases; mobile payment infrastructure; car rental, and more. CAME Parkare also updated the PKE parking system and management software at Murcia and Menorca airports, both also managed by AENA.
The new system will also enable centralized management of car lots at all 25 Spanish AENA airports where it is installed. Benefits for end users include direct payment at the exit, ticketless systems, and automatic ticket machines specifically designed for differently-abled people.
