Moscow Domodedovo Airport has held a full-scale emergency exercise to test the response of state agencies and airport services in the event of an aviation incident.
The exercise involved both the airside and the terminal building, with more than 100 people taking part.
On the first day, the airport team demonstrated its response capabilities during an emergency landing. Specialists trained in firefighting, rescuing passengers, unloading of dangerous cargo and medical care participated. The team employed an armored recovery vehicle to tow the aircraft from the runway.
The second day of the exercise focused on the terminal building, with airport services demonstrating how they would work with passengers’ relatives, airlines and media in an emergency.
The exercise was designed to test the response and communication abilities of the emergency team, as well as checking technical equipment.
