Plaza Premium Lounge, the world’s largest independent airport lounge network, has opened its first locations in Brazil at the Tom Jobim International Airport in Rio de Janeiro. The Hong Kong company has teamed up with airport operator RIOgaleão to offer three facilities at Terminal 2’s South Pier and car park buildings, available to all travelers regardless of airline or travel class, with a total of 570 seats.
The international departures and domestic departures lounges are already open, with the arrivals location expected to launch in October. Bright furniture, murals and graffiti are intended to reflect the landmarks, colors and vibrancy of Brazil, with food and beverage choices courtesy of the buffet areas and live cooking stations. Widescreen TVs, wi-fi, showers, facilities for the disabled, airport information screens, VIP rooms and outdoor terraces are among the other features.
Cheese bread and tapioca are just some of the traditional Brazilian dishes available, including natural guarana-flavored water and caipirinha cocktails. Prices to use one of the Plaza Premium Lounges start at US$60 for two hours.
