Plaza Premium Group has announced that it is to invest US$55m in the opening of 15 new airport locations around the world. The company, which provides airport hospitality services, will open new facilities in 11 international airports, including in Beijing Daxing, Dallas Fort Worth, Dubai International, Heathrow, Sydney and Toronto Pearson.
“Years 2019 and 2020 mark a big leap forward for Plaza Premium Group and we are committed to serving over 16 million travellers by the end of 2020, a 10% increase compared to where we are now. In addition to expanding in the USA, China and Indonesia as part of our US$100m investment in the coming years, we continue to strengthen our leading position in the existing markets by creating a holistic departure, transit and arrival experience,” said Song Hoi-see, founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group.
The Group will open a 1,260m2 Plaza Premium Lounge at Dubai International Airport in December 2019. This will be the largest independent pay-per-use lounge at the airport’s Terminal 3. In the second quarter of 2020, a 1,200m2 lounge will open at Toronto Pearson International, representing the largest independent pay-per-use lounge in Canada.
The Plaza Premium brand will also debut in the USA in 2020 with a domestic lounge and international lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and an international lounge at Denver International Airport. Furthermore, a near 3,000m2 lounge space combining Plaza Premium First, Plaza Premium Lounge and Allways will open in the first half of 2020 in Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
The company has also recently opened two new Aerotels, its in-terminal airport hotel concept, at London Heathrow Terminal 3, and at Beijing Daxing International, the latter becoming the group’s largest property among its portfolio and the largest in-terminal airport hotel in China. A new Aerotel will also open at Sydney Airport in the third quarter 2020.
