Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) in Florida has engaged air transportation IT specialist AirIT to upgrade its airport operational database (AODB), flight information display systems (FIDS), and passenger processing technology. As a result, AirIt will be installing its own AODB, FIDS, and Extended Airline System Environment (EASE) shared-use passenger-processing platform.
AirIT’s EASE technology provides airlines with a flexible environment that allows for a combination of dedicated use, preferential use, and shared-use resources. The system is currently in operation at 38 airports across North America.
Betros Wakim, CEO for AirIT, said, “EASE continues to demonstrate the ability to support airline proprietary environments by leveraging airport network infrastructure; this has made EASE the airline-preferred common-use technology at North American airports today. We are very pleased to be working with Orlando Sanford International Airport and we look forward to providing the tools that the airport will use to operate and compete more efficiently and effectively.”
