Restaurateur SSP America has opened a new marketplace food court in Terminal F at Tampa International Airport in Florida. The Eatery covers approximately 7,700ft2 and contains six outlets offering a taste of the local Tampa Bay region.
The food court is part of a larger US$298m, 10-year contract to open 14 new food and beverage (F&B) units at the airport. SSP will work closely with local architecture firm Alfonso Architects to design the remaining concepts.
Michael Svagdis, CEO, SSP America, said, “There’s a great synergy among this all-star group, which includes our operating partner Perez of Florida and design team Alfonso Architects, as well as this extraordinary group of local restaurant leaders. We are passionate about this long-term partnership and a collective focus on bringing the Tampa passengers the unique taste of the region.”
The Eatery restaurants include Italian café Bella Veloce; Buddy Brew coffee bar; Square 1, which serves hormone and antibiotic-free protein dishes; Fitlife Foods, a producer of healthy grab-and-go meals; Yogurtology frozen yogurt bar; and public house, Liquid Provisions.
Eric Potts, general manager, Bella Veloce, said, “After 30 years in south Tampa we are honored to join SSP America’s concessions team and are very excited about the exposure and the opportunity to reach new customers.”
