Pie Five Pizza, a fast-food chain that specializes in serving customizable pizzas in five minutes or less, has opened its newest location at Baltimore-Washington International Airport in Maryland.
The opening marks the first of two Pie Five locations to be opened at BWI, with the second opening planned for early May. The current outlet is located pre-security in the main terminal between Concourse B and Concourse C. Pie Five’s second location will be situated post security in Concourse B.
Altaf Isani, president of Creative Food Group, the Pie Five franchisee, said, “Pie Five presented the perfect model to offer consumers a better way to dine during travel. With Pie Five’s nearly unlimited pizza combinations made from more than 40 fresh toppings, seven savory sauces and four made-from-scratch crusts, we’re sure guests will love the ability to customize their own personal pie. Pie Five will be a perfect fit for BWI Airport.”
Pie Five’s state-of-the-art TurboChef oven operates without a hood, enabling it to be used in a variety of unique locations, including airports. The oven’s heat, direction, airflow and belt speed can also be adjusted to produce pizzas as well as a variety of side dishes.
Scott Crane, CEO of Pie Five, said, “With Pie Five’s commitment to artisan pizza and speedy service, it was only fitting to bring the future of pizza to an airport setting. We’re excited to explore this new territory, and look forward to taking airport pizza to the next level.”
