In Changi Airport’s Terminal 2, Jones the Grocer has opened a split-level duplex unit, which houses a café, pizzeria, bar and restaurant.
Comprising over 6,600ft2 on two levels in the departure hall of Terminal 2, close to the MRT and the mall, the establishment has been designed to offer a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere.
On the upper level, chefs prepare Jones the Grocer’s modern, globally influenced food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in a theatre kitchen, enabling travelers to see their food being cooked. At the island bar, which offers sweeping views of the terminal, staff serve handcrafted cocktails and small bites, in addition to hand-thrown pizzas baked in a traditional Italian pizza oven. The specially created ‘retail zone’ features retail options. The expansion of the brand onto level three of the terminal follows the company’s successful debut on the lower level in October 2023.
Jonathan Robinson, CEO of SSP Asia Pacific, said, “With our partners at Changi Airport Group and Jones the Grocer International, we have created something truly special here at Changi, and this foodie hub is already proving very popular with travelers in Singapore. This latest venture is the next step in our ambitious plans for our Asian business in Singapore and beyond. Asia is a region that offers considerable scope for expansion, and with our understanding of the global traveling consumer and our very strong local team, we are well placed to make the best of this opportunity.”
Yunib Siddiqui, CEO of Jones the Grocer, said, “It has been an exciting journey working alongside SSP to bring Jones the Grocer alive in this iconic duplex unit at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2. Grabbing a delicious quick bite or lingering upstairs over fantastic food and drink before checking in couldn’t be any easier. This opening also marks the first of many Jones stores and I look forward to introducing our fabulous food to traveling consumers across Asia.”
