Leading Brazilian chef Tereza Paim will shortly opening her first restaurant in an airport, at Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the Vinci Airports network.
Opening later this year, the restaurant – Mesa de Tereza – will bring the flavors of Bahia and Brazil to Salvador Airport. The project is the result of a partnership between Paim and SSP DFA Restaurantes Brasil (SSP).
Mesa de Tereza has been developed especially for Salvador Bahia Airport. Passengers will find the best of regional cuisine on the menu, with chef Tereza Paim’s unique tastes and style. Located in the landside food square and approximately 250m² in size, it will offer amazing views of the runway and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Paim said, “I’m really excited to be opening my first airport restaurant, and in my home city too. It’s a great responsibility to represent the gastronomy of my country and I’m working closely with SSP to develop the menu, which will have lots of favorites from around Brazil. As a regular traveler through the airport, it’s brilliant to be involved in a project that is going to make a big difference to the experience for passengers.”
In addition to Mesa de Tereza, SSP has created a unique bar for Salvador Airport. Located airside, the Bahia Bar will provide the ideal environment for relaxation. With decoration inspired by Bahia beaches, the new establishment will enable passengers to taste a variety of drinks and to enjoy tasty meals, overlooking the airfield.
“Bahia Bar is one of the establishments that is aligned with our purpose to value aspects of the local culture,” explained Marc Gordien, commercial director of Salvador Bahia Airport.
