NEC Display Solutions Europe is set to showcase its innovative display technology solutions for airports at this year’s Passenger Terminal Expo in Cologne, Germany, taking place on March 15-17.
NEC will demonstrate reliable display applications dedicated to each stage of the airport experience, including presenting flight information, interactive wayfinding, engaging retail solutions, the departure gate of the future, and monitoring in the control room.
Richard Wilks, aviation business development manager EMEA at NEC Display Solutions, said, “Airports are constantly challenged to offer an efficient proposition to its passengers, discouraging confusion or anxiety during the traveling experience, while remaining profitable and attractive. NEC’s display innovation portfolio, on show at Passenger Terminal Expo, helps ensure the airport is one step ahead of the travelers’ needs.”
Visitors to the NEC stand will be able to explore a wide-range of products including: the 1.5mm and 1.9mm fine pitch indoor LED surfaces, the latest LED products to feature a modular design, and front and rear access for easy maintenance; new high-brightness 55in and 75in information displays, providing clear visibility to the audience in any lighting condition; the 3×4 video wall using new UN551S displays, with a barely visible bezel width of just 1.8mm; 84in and 98in 4K UHD large format displays, delivering a reality-like visual experience and allowing for both long-distance and proximity viewing; and its 65in multi-touch table, creating an interactive and pixel-free visual experience for wayfinding or retail signage applications.
“At Passenger Terminal Expo 2016 we are showcasing new ways in which innovative display solutions transform the passenger experience, making it a smooth and intuitive visual journey,” added Wilks. “By leveraging new technologies, such as LED, we can create digital surfaces, opening the door to a completely new airport experience.”
