A unique midnight run on the runway of Aberdeen International Airport will return for a third year, the airport has announced.
The 3.5km (2.2 mile) run will take place at midnight on June 20, 2020, along the floodlit runway. The airport will once more organize the run in partnership with CHC Helicopters. More than 300 runners took part in 2019 and the organizers are hoping to attract at least as many participants this year.
Steve Szalay, Aberdeen International Airport managing director, said, “Last year’s event was a huge success. We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming everyone to our runway. We’re delighted to open up our runway to runners once more and look forward to working in partnership with CHC Helicopter to raise essential funds for worthy causes.”
Participants of all running abilities are welcome. Tickets will be available to purchase from the official Runway Run website at 6:00pm on Monday, March 2.
