Germany’s Munich Airport is to add a new pier to its Terminal 1, giving an extra 95,000m2 (8,825m2) of floor space.
Demolition work on the apron is due for completion in autumn 2019, and construction of Terminal 1 will begin in early 2020. The expanded terminal will extend 350m (1,150ft) into the western apron. The pier will have gateside access for six wide-body jets or 12 smaller aircraft.
The new pier is expected to be operational by 2023
