Hotel operator Hersha Hospitality Management (HHM) has completed a US$10m renovation program for the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center in Florida.
Led by hospitality design firm Puccini Group, the renovation includes the transformation of all 405 guestrooms, as well as the lobby, outdoor pool and property entrance.
The Sheraton is the closest hotel to Miami International Airport and offers pedestrian access to the terminals as well as the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC), which provides direct rail connections to South Beach and Brickell. The hotel is also adjacent to the Miami River and Melreese Golf Course.
The room enhancements include the addition of 37in flatscreen TVs, high-speed wi-fi, and work desks with Herman Miller ergonomic seating. The pool area has been designed to reflect the Florida beach experience with tropical plants, comfortable seating and a white sand installation.
Dan McDermott, general manager of the hotel, said, “We believe that this fresh new look will elevate the guest experience at every touchpoint of our hotel, far above and beyond the convenience of being the closest hotel to the airport and a number of Miami’s most popular attractions. This thoughtful and seamless redesign caters to the needs and necessities that are important to the diverse group of travelers we welcome each day at our hotel and Executive Meeting Center.”
