The new terminal at Katsina Airport in Nigeria has been completed and is due to be commissioned according to a report by African news site This Day Live.
The report states that Saleh Dunoma, the managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), spoke to journalists following an inspection last week of the new facility.
Dunoma commented on the strategic importance and relevance of the airport as an alternate to key airports in the northern part of the nation, stating that the terminal would add substantial revenue generation through annual hajj operations, according to the news site.
Dunoma is also quoted as having provided an update on other airport projects being undertaken by FAAN, including Port Harcourt International Airport in the south of Nigeria which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“Work on the terminals has gone far, especially Port Harcourt, followed by Kano, Abuja and Lagos airports,” Dunoma said.
