Engineering firm KÉSZ Építő has begun construction work on a new pier for Terminal 2B (T2B) at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Hungary.
The pier will cover more than 100,000ft² with 10 additional boarding bridges, making it a key aspect of the airport’s HUF50bn (US$170m) BUD 2020 masterplan. Constructed using a mixture of concrete, steel and glass, the pier will contain interior finishes that are in keeping with the SkyCourt passenger hall currently linking terminals 2A and 2B. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2018.
László Szalados, CEO of KÉSZ Építő, said, “As with SkyCourt, we will make full use of our resources and expertise to construct a first class building that meets all possible requirements without interfering with the daily passenger traffic at the airport.”
