The European border and coast guard agency Frontex is inviting industry to demonstrate novel systems and technologies that can be used to train national and Frontex staff to improve their biometric comparison skills. Frontex will host the Online Industry Day on Webex on January 23, 2025.
The agency is looking for digital training solutions for fingerprint comparison, enabling national and Frontex experts to train their fingerprint comparison skills by providing comparison exercises based on real and/or realistic images of fingerprints. Comparison exercises should be of varying difficulty including different degrees of similarity and levels of image quality. Systems should also provide functionalities for tailoring fingerprint comparison exercises, progress tracking and for feedback from trainers. Other technological solutions will be taken into consideration if they are relevant for biometric identification.
Companies interested in participating in the industry day must register by December 19, 2024 by filling in an online registration form with a description of the system they wish to present.
Frontex says it will select up to 16 technological solutions.
Frontex held an industry day in May in relation to the European Entry/Exit System. Read more about it here.
