A new cleaning regime called ‘United CleanPlus’ is spearheading United Airlines’ campaign to win back passengers in the aftermath of COVID-19.
Working with surface disinfection company Clorox and medical experts from Cleveland Clinic, United CleanPlus will inform and guide cleaning and social distancing protocols.
Clorox products will be used at United’s hub airports and medical experts from the Cleveland Clinic will advise on new technologies, training and quality assurance. Clorox’s products will be initially used at the airline’s Chicago and Denver bases. Cleveland Clinic is also advising United on policies and procedures including face coverings, touchless kiosks and social distancing.
United Airlines has taken additional steps to reduce the risk of infection including temporarily shutting self-service kiosks and using sneeze guards at points including check-in counters, while employees will have their temperatures checked before starting work.
