SOMA Global has entered the aviation market by providing a public safety platform to Richmond International Airport.
The Public Safety as a Service platform will help police at the airport in Richmond, Virginia, to secure facilities and protect the four million passengers who pass through each year.
Using the platform, airport police and emergency services will use features including SOMA HUB to search across multiple feeds, SOMA Dispatch for computer-aided dispatch, SOMA Records for incident-based reporting and criminal data, and SOMA Mobile for mobile dispatch of patrol and first responders.
Interim chief Matthew Tenney of the Richmond International Airport Police said, “The SOMA Platform will allow the airport the ability to share criminal justice related data between the agencies within the airport in a secure manner. This new platform will provide reports that will meet the standards of both the Federal and State of Virginia Uniformed Crime Reporting and Incident Based Reporting.”
Richmond airport is the first transportation agency to use SOMA’s platform.
