Port of Seattle executive director Steve Metruck has announced that the Port will provide temporary financial relief to on-demand taxi and flat-rate drivers serving Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
From midnight on March 24, 2020, for a period of 90 days, the Port will not collect per-trip fees charged to operators. Further details, including the period for repayment, are yet to be determined.
“This is an important first step for the Port to help provide relief to those most impacted and least able to withstand such a severe and sudden drop in income,” said Port of Seattle commissioner Fred Felleman.
The Port continues to assess relief options for businesses.
