Architects Woods Bagot have upgraded the food courts at San Francisco airport and they’ve taken the opportunity to create an outdoor observation deck too.
The upgrades, which are in the international terminal building, were prompted by the airport’s REACH (Revenue Enhancement And Customer Hospitality) initiative to become a ‘premium’ gateway.
Booths, banquettes and community tables are in a palette that are said to be designed in keeping with the Bay Area’s natural landscape, while small nooks feature locally sourced silvery fish scale tiles. Wood and steel community tables let larger groups spread out and individuals plug in.
