Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 2, which is currently nearing completion, will be equipped with screening equipment from Smiths Detection, the UK-based company has announced.
The new terminal, which is intended to become an international transit hub, will have the ability to handle 25 million passengers annually, and the screening equipment will help ensure the quick and thorough screening of baggage and cargo passing through the terminal. The airport will take delivery of the Smith’s HI-SCAN 10080 XCT CT scanners, which will be used for the screening of hold baggage.
Smiths said these scanners exceed international regulatory requirements, having achieved Standard 3.1 approval (the highest defined security standard in the EU). They also have TSA 7.2 certification.
