Aberdeen International Airport will open the first part of its upgraded departure lounge area in April 2019, featuring several new stores that have been relocated from their current units to a new retail and catering area, housed in the former World Duty Free and Security facility.
Larger Dixons Travel and Boots stores will open on April 8 and 10, respectively, offering a new range of brands previously unseen at both airport stores. The entire transformation project is earmarked for completion in autumn this year, with a complete refurbishment and expansion of The Globe as well as the inclusion of a new airside Joes Café. A third retail store will also open in the area adjacent to The Distilling House.
Steve Szalay, managing director of Aberdeen International Airport, said, “We’re gearing up for the new stores opening up next month and can’t wait for our passengers to see the fantastic Boots and Dixons Travel shops.
“But the developments don’t end here. In the autumn, we’ll be ready to showcase our completed terminal. Our catering offering will be significantly improved, with more choice for our passengers than ever before.
“It’s truly an exciting time for Aberdeen International Airport and we look forward to welcoming all to the fabulous new space.”
