Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, India, has opened its own dedicated post office. The new facility will service passengers, airport community members and those residing in the airport’s vicinity.
Located at the C-Level, near the car park and next to the banks, the RGI Airport Post Office offers all key postal services, including: core banking facilities, the booking of speed post and registered post articles, money orders, the acceptance of PLI and RPLI premia, ePayment transactions, My Stamp Service, Saving Bank, and Cash certificates. Open from 9:30am until 5:30pm, the post office caters to various delivery needs with the help of one post master and two delivery agents.
SGK Kishore, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airports Ltd (GHIAL), which operates the airport, said, “We are thankful to the Department of Posts for opening a dedicated post office at our airport. We are happy that as an airport operator, we have been able to contribute to a social cause by bringing postal services right to the doorstep of the airport.
“With the presence of all postal services, including the opening of bank accounts, speed post and money orders, the airport post office will surely benefit a large section of people, including around 15 million passengers who use the airport annually, more than 5,000 airport community members and the people residing in the airport vicinity.”
