Flughafen München GmbH (FMG), the operator for Munich Airport in Germany, has released its financial figures for 2015 showing total earnings after tax (EAT) of €135m (US$150m).
The operator achieved group sales of €1.25bn (US$1.4bn) for 2015 thanks to a record-breaking 41 million passengers using the airport, a 3% increase over the previous year.
Dr Michael Kerkloh, president and CEO of Munich Airport, said, “This is the best result in the history of our company. It is also very good news for the neighboring communities. They are going to receive about €35m (US$40m) in business taxes for 2015 – €7m (US$8m) more than in 2014.”
When looking forward to 2016, Kerkloh pointed to the impact that the new satellite facility will have when it opens next month.
“As one of the world’s most advanced passenger facilities, the satellite terminal will offer passengers pleasant surroundings, a wide range of shopping and dining options, and outstanding travel convenience in attractive and spacious areas flooded with natural light,” he added.
