Yoga and wellness company YYoga is launching a new pilot project in the Domestic Terminal at Vancouver International Airport in Canada from Friday (July 15) where passengers are invited to make the most of a dedicated yoga space prior to their flight.
The program will run between July 15 and August 26, 2016, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and will provide travelers with a dedicated space to practice their own yoga flow, meditation or simple stretching. A YYoga instructor will also be on hand to welcome passengers, answer questions and suggest poses and stretches that are particularly beneficial during travel. Pre-registration is not required and mats are provided by YYoga.
YYoga@YVR is part of Vancouver Airport’s annual Take-Off Fridays summer initiative, offering music, entertainment and family-friendly activities in the terminal.
Kim Halowski, manager, sales and services, Vancouver Airport Authority, the airport operator, said, “We know that passengers are looking for a variety of wellness options when they travel. Adding a tranquil yoga space to this year’s YVR Take-Off Fridays programming allows us to offer experiences that appeal to different travelers and continue to enhance the passenger experience at the airport.”
Berk Kansu, marketing manager for YYoga, said, “Yoga can offer tremendous benefits to travelers. It can help passengers feel relaxed and centered and help them move to their next destination in a refreshed, calm way. We’re excited to be able to partner with Vancouver Airport to make this space available for passengers this summer.”
