Confidex, a manufacturer of wireless identification tags, labels and beacons, has launched its Myvia digital platform for linking assets and business-critical processes at airports.
Myvia enhances the travel experience and increases operational efficiency by working as a travel data aggregator, providing operators with greater insight into travel metadata.
For passengers, the adoption of Myvia results in both reduced stress and dwell times, and therefore more leisure time.
The Myvia platform uses a network of wireless IoT sensors to track passengers throughout the terminal and also within retail outlets.
Heat maps and other travel data provide decision makers with secure actionable intelligence that not only helps to identify bottlenecks, but can also be used to direct passengers to stores through proximity marketing.
The product also supports airport staff by providing them information about the real-time location of airport objects.
Paul Broekhuizen, executive vice president of smart industries, Confidex, said, “Whereas outdoor location navigation services for finding the nearest shop or your parked car are commonly available features, indoor location services to support airports in their digital airport strategy have been missing in the past.
“Now, with Myvia by Confidex, airports have the tools to bring new services to their passengers.”
