The contents of Heathrow Airport Terminal 1 are set to be auctioned by CA Global Partners UK, in conjunction with Indassol. The Terminal opened in 1968 and was the biggest short-haul terminal in Western Europe at the time.
Offers are currently being accepted in all major items, with the inventory including baggage handling items including the complete baggage reclaim system and luggage reclaim carousels; gate furniture and accessories such as gate desk systems and security cameras; infrastructure equipment including air handling units and lighting systems; and décor items such as airport artwork and memorabilia, signage and advertisement display systems.
Daniel Gray, managing partner of CA Global Partners Europe, said, “A sale such as this, comprising the entire contents and infrastructure of an entire major airport terminal is unprecedented, to say the least.
“Not only does this represent a rare opportunity for a young airport to fully equip a new terminal, but many of the items in this sale could be refurbished or repurposed for a variety of uses in other industries, let alone some of the historical value to many of the items.”
