Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has distributed more than AS$20,000 (US$16,865) in grants to over 20 charitable organizations as part of its biannual philanthropic Community Giving Fund.
Twice a year, BAC asks for applications for grants from projects that provide health and wellbeing, safety, sport, education and environment programs, or other community benefits and initiatives. Since the launch of its Community Giving Fund in 2015, BAC has donated nearly AS$300,000 (US$229,980) to help smaller charities continue the work they do within the community.
Recipients of donations from BAC’s latest round of Community Giving include Open Doors Youth Service, Women’s Legal Service Support, and Alzheimer’s Australia.
BAC also distributes more than AS$1m (US$766,000) in sponsorship support to a wide range of community-focused corporations each year. BAC’s major charitable partnerships include The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Crime Stoppers, RACQ Life Flight and Surf Life Saving Queensland.
