Spanish airport operator Aena has been awarded the highest possible ranking, A, by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
Using an annual survey of the world’s largest companies, the CDP compiles information about climate risks and low-carbon opportunities connected with climate change. Companies are rated on a scale from the highest level, A, to the lowest, D, and compared with other firms in the same region or industry.
Last year, more than 8,300 companies worldwide participated in the survey and only 179 achieved an A rating, seven of which are Spanish – including Aena.
