Airport operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) has introduced its iShopChangi online duty-free shopping and reserve service for arriving passengers at Changi Airport in Singapore.
CAG introduced iShopChangi in 2013 to allow departing passengers to browse more than 5,000 duty-free products online before reserving a purchase to collect in-store.
Now arriving passengers can make online purchases while still benefiting from the duty-free savings on wines, spirits, cosmetics and perfumes. Members of Changi Rewards, the airport’s loyalty program, will also earn rewards points.
Passengers simply make a payment online and then collect the respective purchase from DFS or The Shilla Duty Free stores in the arrivals hall. Collections can be made at any time for wines and spirits, and between 06:00am and midnight for cosmetics and perfumes. Purchases can be made as early as two weeks before flying but must be made 18 hours prior to traveling.
Ivy Wong, senior vice president, airside concessions, CAG, said, “The digital revolution has changed the way many browse, shop and purchase products, resulting in online shopping becoming more popular among shoppers. We saw an opportunity to serve our passengers better, by introducing duty-free online shopping with iShopChangi two years ago. Our extension of iShopChangi’s service to arriving passengers provides shoppers with even greater convenience, value and variety when they shop with Changi Airport.”
