Concessionaire Lagardère Travel Retail is set to open a new concept travel retail store at Launceston Airport in Tasmania, Australia.
The Launceston Store will be managed by Australian convenience store operator NewsLink and will stock a range of travel essentials as well as Tasmanian gifts and souvenirs. The new store will be decorated in a range of graphics that, together with the color palette, invoke a sense of place for passengers.
Paul Ryan, development director for Lagardère Travel Retail for the Pacific region, said, “This is a really exciting bespoke development for us in the Pacific region. To enter the Tasmanian market is very much in line with our strategy and vision, and Launceston is a great place for us to showcase our latest concept. The store is designed to stand proudly as the heart of Tasmania, and its offer will be new and innovative.
“To be selected by Launceston Airport as their travel essentials partner of choice is extremely pleasing, and we are delighted to provide a retail solution to meet the airport’s clear vision for the retail offer within the terminal redevelopment. We look forward to working with the Launceston Airport team over the coming months to deliver the project.”
Paul Hodgen, general manager, Launceston Airport, said, “The store aligns with Launceston Airport’s goal of introducing a greater sense of place, adding a Tasmanian look and feel to the terminal and promoting locally sourced products available for passengers.”
