Concession operator Lagardère Travel Retail has opened a new luggage and travel accessories retail concept in Terminal 2 (T2) at Cairns Airport in Queensland, Australia.
The 646ft² Travel Store stocks a range of traditional, new and exclusive luggage and travel brands including Victorinox, Lojel, Antler, The North Face, Alife, Go Travel and Lonely Planet. It has a contemporary finish utilizing bright colors, wooden floors and digital displays, as well as a baggage carousel as a centerpiece to drive home the outlet’s aeronautical theme.
David Bisset, executive general manager for Lagardère Travel Retail, said, “The Travel Store marks our entry into the travel category with standalone stores. There is a host of exciting and innovative travel lifestyle products that are yet to be represented in travel retail, and it is our intention to replicate the proven model of our agile tech2go concept, and bring consumers a refreshing next generation of travel store. We thank Cairns Airport for supporting our vision and partnering with us on this exciting new project.”
Fiona Ward, general manager, commercial, Cairns Airport, said, “Cairns Airport is proud to partner with Lagardère Travel Retail in the launch of this exciting new concept. The Travel Store is a great addition to our T2 retail offer. There is a great range of luggage as well as many other travel products that are sure to appeal to our passengers, whether they are visitors or locals. I invite everyone passing through the airport to be sure to check it out, whether they are shopping for themselves or looking for some great Christmas gifts for family and friends.”
