Helsinki Airport is set to open a Plaza Premium Lounge in February 2019 at its non-Schengen terminal as a part of the terminal extension opens. The new lounge operator was selected through a public tendering process.
The new lounge will offer services and facilities for travelers departing, transiting and arriving at Helsinki Airport, featuring comfortable seating, a live kitchen, a bar, shower facilities, recharging stations, wi-fi, computer workstations, and a kid zone.
Elena Stenholm, vice president of commercial services at Helsinki Airport, said, “At Helsinki Airport we work hard together with our partners to ensure a smooth, high-quality travel experience for our customers. Plaza Premium Lounge is a wonderful new addition to our ever-growing range of services, giving our 20 million annual passengers the ability to relax before, after or between flights at non-Schengen terminal.”
Jonathan Song, business development director of Plaza Premium Group, commented, “Our decision to expand to Helsinki Airport was a natural one. Finland is a major transit hub offering the shortest route between Europe and Asia. We look forward to extending our airport hospitality expertise in our third market in Europe. This partnership will be another major milestone in achieving our global ambitions.”
