Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has completed the final phase of its £5m (US$6.7m) improvement works that have taken place over the past 18 months.
The latest phase totaled over £2m (US$2.9m), expanding and redesigning the World Duty Free retail area and adding a Traveller fashion store. Traveller offers brands such as Superdry, The North Face and Calvin Klein. World Duty Free has also added beauty brands MAC and Jo Malone to its retail offering.
Lucy O’Shaughnessy, commercial director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said, “These latest improvements have been completed just in time as we enter the busiest part of the year for the airport, with hundreds of thousands of passengers expected to pass through during the busy summer months.
“Having listened carefully to our passengers, we now believe we have passenger facilities here at Liverpool which are up there with the best of any UK regional airport. When combined with our recognized faster, easier and friendlier approach, Liverpool John Lennon Airport now gives a passenger experience second to none.”
Development work completed last year saw new shops, bars and restaurants open up and the refurbishment and upgrade of the upper floor of the airport’s departure lounge. There are also 13 new flight information screens installed throughout the departure lounge.
